Agra is a world-known city located on the banks of the River Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. It was once the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1526 to 1658. The city is the home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal. It is a mausoleum built for the wife of the Mughal emperor, Shahjahan.
