Kashmir Safety Support During Operation Sindoor
Our clients were already travelling in Kashmir near Gulmarg when the security situation changed during Operation Sindoor. Their original plan included travelling towards Gurez Valley, but the changing conditions and road restrictions meant that continuing the itinerary was no longer appropriate. The priority immediately shifted from sightseeing to getting the travellers to safety. Our team maintained continuous coordination with the drivers, local contacts and the travellers while monitoring the practical movement options on the ground. The clients were brought towards Jammu within approximately two days despite significant restrictions and were subsequently able to return safely to Mumbai. We also supported them with applicable refunds and vouchers for losses caused by the disruption. The experience reinforced an important principle: when circumstances change, an itinerary can be sacrificed — traveller safety cannot.

Dubai Attraction Closed on Visit Day
A client had planned their Dubai itinerary around a visit to Louvre Abu Dhabi, but the attraction was unexpectedly closed on the scheduled visit day due to operational reasons. While the ticket issue could be addressed separately, our bigger responsibility was making sure the client did not lose an important day of their holiday. Our team immediately looked for suitable alternatives and arranged last-minute tickets for Atlantis Dubai and the Dubai Monorail. The itinerary was adjusted around the new activities, allowing the client to continue enjoying the day instead of being left with a cancelled experience. The situation reminded us that when an attraction becomes unavailable, the real job is not simply explaining the problem — it is finding a practical alternative quickly.

Singapore Visa Secured Just 48 Hours Before Departure
A client had applied for their Singapore visa independently, but as the departure date approached, the visa had still not been received. With the international trip at risk and very little time remaining, our team stepped in to explore every legitimate support option available through our network. We contacted a known Singapore-based contact who happened to be a Singapore citizen and coordinated the situation urgently. What looked increasingly difficult with departure approaching was eventually resolved, with the visa received approximately 48 hours before departure. The client was able to proceed with the planned Singapore holiday. The experience reinforced the importance of having a strong professional network and knowing how to escalate a genuine last-minute travel problem.

Personalised Support for Senior Travellers in Dubai
A senior Jain couple travelled to Dubai with limited English-speaking ability and specific dietary requirements. For them, a good holiday required more than simply arranging hotels, transfers and sightseeing. Our team remained in continuous contact throughout their trip so they could reach us whenever they needed assistance. We also coordinated Jain food arrangements in Dubai to ensure their dietary preferences were respected. The focus was to make the couple comfortable and confident throughout the journey rather than expecting them to manage communication and arrangements on their own. This experience reinforced one of our core beliefs: every traveller has different needs, and good travel management means adapting the service around the traveller.

Breakfast Wasn't Included — But the Students Were
During an industrial trip with a student group, the group was scheduled to arrive at the hotel before the regular breakfast service. Breakfast had not been included in the original booking because the early arrival timing had been overlooked during the booking process. When the group arrived, the hotel initially declined the additional breakfast arrangement. Since this was a student group and the early arrival was part of the planned movement, our team immediately coordinated with the property and worked to arrange breakfast for the students without passing an additional cost on to the client. The group was able to start the day comfortably and continue with the industrial visit as planned. The experience reinforced the importance of taking ownership of small operational gaps instead of allowing them to become the client's problem.

Chardham Cab Cancelled One Day Before Departure
During the Chardham peak season, a client's confirmed cab became unavailable just one day before departure. Vehicle availability was extremely limited and finding a suitable replacement at such short notice was a serious operational challenge. Instead of passing the problem to the client or asking them to pay more, our team immediately searched for another vehicle and arranged a premium vehicle with Maharaja-style seating. The additional cost was absorbed by us so the client did not have to pay extra or spend their time worrying about the operational failure. The trip continued as planned. This case reinforced our commitment that when a confirmed operational arrangement fails, the client should not be left responsible for solving the problem.

Weather Cancelled the Planned Experience
A family had planned an outdoor activity as an important part of their holiday, but changing weather conditions made the experience unavailable or unsafe on the scheduled day. Rather than forcing the activity or leaving the family without a plan, our team coordinated with the local operator and reviewed suitable alternatives based on the weather and remaining itinerary. The day's schedule was adjusted so the travellers could continue enjoying the destination while keeping safety as the priority. The experience reinforced that good itinerary planning is not about following a fixed schedule at any cost, but knowing when to change the plan.

Cancelled Flights, Saved Honeymoon
A couple travelling from Singapore had booked a Kashmir honeymoon package with us when their flights were cancelled due to an airline disruption. The cancellation put the entire holiday at risk because flights, hotels, transfers and other arrangements were connected to their original travel dates. The couple understandably became demotivated and uncertain about continuing the trip. Our team helped them initiate the refund process for the cancelled flights, assisted with booking new flights and coordinated with our operational partners to shift the hotel, transfer and sightseeing arrangements to the revised dates. We worked to minimise the additional financial impact caused by the change. The couple eventually travelled to Kashmir on the new dates and enjoyed their honeymoon successfully. What initially looked like a cancelled holiday became a revised holiday.

When the Hotel Didn't Meet Our Standard
A client travelling to Manali had booked a 3-star package but raised concerns about the property's hygiene and service. Rather than immediately dismissing the complaint or blaming the hotel, our team investigated the situation with the client and operational team. After checking the circumstances, we found that the complaint was genuine and that the delivered experience did not meet the standard we had committed to providing. We immediately arranged the client's checkout from the original property and shifted them to a 4-star property as a complimentary upgrade. The additional cost and compensation were absorbed by us rather than passed on to the client. This case reinforced a simple principle: a hotel may be what was originally booked, but if the actual experience falls below the standard promised, we have a responsibility to act.

Mountain Road Blocked During the Journey
A traveller was travelling through a mountainous destination when a road closure made the originally planned route unavailable. Continuing without proper information was not an option, so our team immediately coordinated with the driver and local contacts to understand the situation on the ground. Alternative routes and practical options were reviewed before deciding how to move the traveller safely. The itinerary was adjusted according to the conditions rather than forcing the original plan. The experience reinforced the importance of local coordination and flexible planning, especially when travelling through destinations where weather, landslides and road conditions can change quickly.

Flight Cancelled at the Last Moment
A client reached the airport ready to begin their holiday when their scheduled flight was cancelled. The cancellation immediately affected the rest of the itinerary, including hotel check-in, transfers and sightseeing arrangements. Instead of leaving the client to manage the disruption alone, our team helped review the available airline options, supported the rebooking process and coordinated the required changes with our destination partners. The downstream bookings were adjusted around the new travel plan wherever possible. The situation demonstrated that a cancelled flight does not necessarily mean a cancelled holiday when the entire travel operation is coordinated quickly.

When Flights Were Too Expensive and Trains Were Full
A client was determined to continue with their holiday, but flight prices had become extremely expensive and regular train availability was already full. Instead of simply telling the client that tickets were unavailable, our team kept working through the available travel options. We monitored alternative trains and legitimate last-minute booking possibilities, including Tatkal and eligible quota options where applicable. The team remained ready to act as soon as suitable confirmed availability appeared. Eventually, confirmed travel arrangements were secured and the client was able to proceed with the planned holiday. The experience demonstrated that travel management sometimes means staying on the problem longer than the obvious solution remains available.

Lost Passport During an International Trip
A traveller realised that their passport was missing while already abroad, immediately putting the rest of the journey at risk. Our team stayed in continuous contact with the traveller, helped coordinate the required local documentation and reporting process, and guided them through the available embassy and airline procedures. At the same time, we reviewed the itinerary and adjusted arrangements wherever required. Instead of leaving the traveller to manage a stressful situation alone in a foreign country, our team remained involved until the situation was brought under control. The experience reinforced the importance of having reliable local contacts and responsive support during international travel emergencies.

High-Altitude Illness During Ladakh Bike Expedition
During a Ladakh bike expedition near Pangong and other high-altitude areas, one of our travellers developed severe symptoms related to high altitude and could no longer continue with the group. Our team immediately prioritised the traveller's safety, coordinated the return journey from the high-altitude area to Leh, and supported the traveller with medical assistance and accommodation in Leh. Once their condition stabilised and they were fit to continue, we coordinated their arrangements so they could rejoin the expedition and continue the journey with the group. The experience reinforced that adventure travel requires more than a well-planned route — it requires a team capable of responding quickly when a traveller's health or safety becomes the priority.

Lost Baggage After Arrival
A traveller arrived at the destination but their checked baggage did not arrive with them. With essential belongings missing at the beginning of the holiday, the situation created immediate stress. Our team stayed connected with the traveller, helped coordinate the baggage-reporting process with the airline and assisted with communication regarding the expected delivery. At the same time, the immediate itinerary was reviewed so the traveller could continue with the holiday while the baggage issue was being resolved. The case demonstrated that even when an issue is outside the travel company's direct control, the traveller should not feel left alone to manage it.

Last-Minute Industrial Visit Access Denied
The students were scheduled for an important industrial visit, but access to the planned industry was denied at the last moment. Since the visit was a key part of their educational trip, simply cancelling it was not an option. Our team immediately started coordinating with alternative industries, arranged fresh communication and secured permission at another suitable industry. The itinerary was reworked around the new arrangement, and the students successfully completed their industrial visit without losing the experience they had travelled for. This case reinforced the importance of having local industry contacts, alternative options and a team capable of making quick decisions when plans change unexpectedly.

About Unplanned Trips
‘Unplanned’ — the word which we don't want to be associated with the activities in our life unless this activity is travelling.
Unplanned trip means unknown adventures and life lasting memories. There are number of underrated places which have great potential as a tourist location. With a view of reviving our tradition and providing one stop travel solution we came up with Unplanned.
In our next phase, Unplanned will be the most unique and simple platform for travelling and exploring cities.
This startup journey is supported and incubated at SSIP. Unplanned is being developed as a strong travelling partner by the team of young minds full of enthusiasm and bold to take risks.
It's the time that: ‘You wish, we plan’
